“LINGAP NG INA” RADIO MARIA’S FIRST ART EXHIBIT

With months of preparation, Radio Maria has successfully staged her first-ever art exhibit labelled “Lingap ng Ina” at the Museo ng Probinsya ng Tarlac. The said exhibit featured the works of Prof. Judeo Herrera, Bong Vega, an internationally acclaimed artist Ninoy Lumboy and Fine Art students of Tarlac State University.
The exhibit opened on the 2nd day of December and was blessed by His Excellency Most Rev. Enrique Macaraeg, D.D., Bishop of Tarlac. Gov. Susan Yap and City Mayor Cristy Angeles were both present at the grand opening, Prof. Jude and Sir Ninoy were also spotted and most of the attendees who filled the museum were students of Tarlac State University, Radio Maria Staff and Volunteers.
Part of the said exhibit is the Poster Making Contest which was held at the CityWalk on the 10th of December. The poster making contest for Elementary Level started at 10am and 1:30pm for Junior High. The contest was attended by students from different schools around the Province of Tarlac.
On Monday, December 12, the artworks of the contestants were travelled by our Coordinator Tito Jun to the residence of Sir Ninoy Lumboy in Bamban, Tarlac for judging/selection. As Tito Jun related, “Nilapag naming isa-isa sa garden nila, tapos paikot-ikot, pabalik-balik kami na pinagmamasdan ang bawat obra,” until reduced to the final 6 per category after an hour.
A total of 12 contenders were declared winners, 6 from Elementary and 6 from Junior High, declared winners are the following:

3rd John Samuel De Luna – Maliwalo Central Elementary School
4th John Carl Menor – Sto. Cristo Integrated School
5th Bea Data – Paniqui South Central Elementary School
6th Abraham Ambross Espinosa – San Luis Educational Foundation
1st Jesus Angelo Yabut – Maliwalo High School
2nd Ken Raizen Caingat – Bayanihan Institute
3rd John Louisse Cabalu – Maliwalo National High School
4th Vien Patrick Ferrer – Concepcion Catholic School
5th Mac Justine Pizarro – Capas High School
6th Myjo Maj Perej – Matatalaib High School
Three local artists were interviewed by Radio Maria Volunteers. Prof. Jude and Sir Bong by Sukey Alovera and Sir Ninoy by Marley Tallada. These painters donated some of their artworks for the radio station’s operating costs. The Fine Arts Students of Tarlac State University also shared their talents by donating their masterpieces for the benefit of the station.
On the 28th of December, Rev Fr. Raymund Cruz officiated the Holy Mass at the Museo, for the closing of the art exhibit.
